Marines forever! Happy birthday, Jarheads!
On Nov. 10, 1775, the gathering at Tun's Tavern was a meeting where young men met and joined a military unit that became the United States Marine Corps.
On Nov. 10, 2017, Marines worldwide celebrated their 242nd birthday. That is 88,390 days old. Most Marines don't look that old, but some feel it.
Marines today are better equipped and perhaps better trained, but in the end, all those who wear the eagle, globe and anchor on their uniforms or clothing, are Marines forever.
