We need a tax revolution

Gasoline taxes rose by 12 cents per gallon Wednesday to raise money for fixing roads and highways. It is the first of several tax and fee hikes that will take effect after they were approved by the Legislature earlier this year.

I was always told the Revolutionary War was fought partly because of taxation without representation, so now we are being taxed with representation, and we need a tax revolution. Who represented us when the new gas tax was passed? And why is it that every time the state needs money, the Legislature passes another tax without asking the voters?

This also leads to another question, how can the feds raise access to the national parks when they were originally set up for the people as a place to visit and enjoy? Every time this country needs money. the middle class is burdened with the cost.

Where are the people who supposedly represent us? When will we find people who really believe in the American people and not our money?
