Why do we keep buying foreign goods when they put us out of work?
The issue of corporations going oversees for cheap labor has been common knowledge for quite some time now, and yet we continue to shop at corporations such as Walmart and Nike without batting an eye.
These corporations are looking to maximize the amount of money they make, and when they see an opportunity to cut costs, such as moving their factories to different countries, they move forward with no moral dilemma toward\s the workers that they are leaving jobless.
We openly condemn these corporations, but when forced to pay a higher price for products made in the United States, we revert to old habits and look for deals at corporations employing slave labor and unlivable wages.
Does our moral compass falter when we know it will affect our everyday lives, or are we becoming desensitized to the horrors that other human beings are put through to make your new pair of sneakers?
Is the answer to our moral dilemmas shopping for products only made in the U.S., or do we continue supporting these corporations and others alike for reasonably priced items?
