Racist, phony-patriot sports fans turn me off, literally
I am sad and disappointed with fans at sporting events.
For fans to give a standing ovation to a player who deliberately uses gestures and phrases that are racially offensive is sad. I am no longer watching the World Series because of the actions that Houston Astros’ Yuli Gurriel made when he stated he knew that it would be offensive.
I have no respect for those people nor do I respect the fans who all think that it was OK for him to do it.
I’m also sad about the fans complaining about players kneeling for the national anthem. Look around at games and observe the fans. I’ve personally seen many who talk loudly and continue walking to or from their seats during the national anthem and those who sit through it all because it’s more important to eat or drink.
I’ve been to hundreds of sporting events over the years and have more anger toward them rather than the players kneeling who do so quietly and usually with their hands over their hearts. This is a sad commentary about this country and it makes me sad to see this.
