Career technical schools prepare students for great jobs
Bravo and hurray to the Fresno County Board of Education for creating the Career Technical Education Charter High School. This option for education is long overdue and neglected in our city and and county.
There are many students who might become interested in furthering their education if they saw a practical reason for learning the information they are provided.
I remember when technical classes were offered in the all schools for auto shop, carpentry/woodshop etc.
There is a tremendous need for skilled workers to build and repair houses; electrical, plumbing, tile, çarpentry, air conditioning-heating repair, lighting, sound systems, roofing, painting, etc. Auto repair will always be needed. The tradespeople I have worked with over the years are extremely skilled, “artists” in their chosen professions and take pride in the job well done.
These professions pay very well and will never be replaced by a robot like many of the other current jobs will.
Not every student can or should to go to college but technical high school students will be able to find great jobs to give them a chance to fulfill the American dream.
