Politicians take us for idiots

It seems to me that the United States Congress could do more about the cruel suffering that the underemployed or the unemployed citizens of this great country endure.

Where are all these jobs that President Trump promised? The Republican Party has become the party of propaganda and outright hatred, blaming the poor and homeless for their situation.

The pull yourself up by the boot strap mentality? The poor have had their boots stolen by the government. When both houses of congress are beholden to the corporate mob the people of America lose.

Corporations took incentives offered by the government to move manufacturing jobs overseas and slowly over the last 40 years most of the good-paying manufacturing jobs have been eliminated.

The reason is simple greed, paying slave wages to people in other countries so that corporations can put hundreds of millions of dollars into off-shore bank accounts to avoid paying taxes on their profits.

Then this money is used to buy politicians. Yes, that's right, bribery. The politicians would have us believe that a $100,000 contribution has no influence on their ability to make decisions. The politicians take us for idiots and that's really sad.
