No tax benefit for Trump? And you believe him?
Donald Trump, with a straight face, told the American people that his tax plan would not benefit him one bit. If you believe him, then consider what is in this plan.
He wants to eliminate the alternative minimum tax, which keeps wealthy individuals from avoiding most of their taxes through various loopholes. The one partial tax return of his that we saw showed that he would have paid almost nothing if not for the AMT.
He wants to lower the tax rate for certain unincorporated businesses that pass their income through to their personal accounts, from 35 percent to 25 percent. Coincidentally this is the type of business entity Trump has.
And if that isn’t enough, he wants to eliminate the estate tax, one of the few curbs that we have on the skyrocketing wealth inequality in this country. If he has close to what he claims (always questionable) this will save him billions of dollars.
If you still believe that he is telling you the truth, then you are clearly too stupid to vote.
