The Bee’s editorial “Dear Mrs. Kaepernick” Sept. 25 is so misleading and dripping with the “’sacrifices” of Colin Kaepernick’s mother, I had to go up for breath. The mother selflessly adopted a boy of mixed race. Why that should be such a big deal? That seems racist.

Mrs. Kaepernick went to games and cheered him on. What father or mother has not done the same thing? Usually not with the success her son did – being a millionaire in a short time. He decided on his own to become a free agent, and he was not later picked up because his skills were not up to par.

The kneeling has not accomplished one thing, except getting people mad at each other.

Mr. Kaepernick has now managed to instill in impressionable young people, especially in the black community, that police officers are all killing black people. My granddaughter had to defend her father and mother, who now are retired police officers, in a communication class, after one student claimed that all officers are bad. That is the society we live in now.
