Put Cali up front where it belongs on Election Day
Does it really matter what month the elections take place in this state?
By the time California closes its polls, Iowa has already declared a winner, Eastern voters have celebrated, gotten drunk and gone to bed. Until closing time in the general election is changed to coincide with closing in the East, this state may as well sit and wait for the absentee ballots be counted in a few weeks.
This state will never make any election dents or upstage Iowa until the twain East and West meet regarding the closing of the polls. It Makes more sense to close the polls at 5 p.m. to agree with 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
OK, so you need to get in line earlier, and some legislation needs to take place. It takes leadership to put our sunny state where it belongs, smiley and up front. Initiative does not lag three hours behind.
