Did ‘toughest judge’ put proprietary tax information at risk? Or was he wise to give probation?
According to an article in the Sept. 21 Bee, Alicia Vasquezpleaded no contest to felony grand theft by fraudulently using a mentally ill elderly lady’s identity and stealing $60,000 from her.
Ms. Vasquez stood before “one of the toughest judges in Fresno County Superior Court” Brian Alvarez for sentencing. The thefts occurred over a period of many years, but the convicted criminal was so sorry and had lots of good friends.
The “toughest judge” gave her probation so she could keep her job at the Internal Revenue Service. Read this again very slowly and let it sink in. All of our proprietary information is so much safer due to this “tough judge’s” decision.
