Why not pull over and help people?
I have been reading a book by Catherine Marshall, and in one part, everybody in the town gets together to help rebuild homes after a horrible flood. This got me thinking.
I remember when I was young, people would help people in trouble. I recall my dad pulling over on the road to help somebody who seemed to be having car trouble. Most people would be glad my dad did this. My dad did not give this much thought. If they did not need help, my dad would get back in the car, and we would be on our way.
I go out in my power chair. A ways back, I saw a woman who needed food to eat. I pulled over and handed her money. This is what I learned from my dad, or I just picked up the habit on my own.
Are people scared of getting hurt if they pull over to help somebody?
Jesus was always stopping to help people, not that I am comparing myself to Jesus. Isn’t it the right thing to do to help another person when you are able?
