Ashjian’s trouble doesn’t compare
About three weeks ago, Brooke Ashjian, president of the FUSD school board, made comments about LGBT-inclusive sex education required by the state. After Wednesday's school board meeting, he released a two-page letter saying LGBT leaders were attacking his faith and trying to silence him like the Ottoman Turks did the Armenians before the the genocide.
Really? Ashjian has felt labeled and attacked for three weeks. Members of the LGBT community have felt labeled and attacked their whole lives.
