Things were different than they are now

While I condemn those who created the riot in Charlottesville, I also condemn those who want to remove Gen. Robert E. Lee’s statue. Lee was a great general and an American. He is part of our history and not a man to be hated.

At that time in history, things were different than what they are now. He was defending what he thought was right for the Southern states, which was also a part of America. The South were also Americans. And I also wonder who started the fights.
