Manchester movie theater seating takes fun out of films

Thanks to the owners of Manchester Center for keeping our local mall alive and thriving.

However, I am disappointed in the changes at the Regal movie theater. Now we have to pick a seat by computer screen before entering. My first time, I had no idea which seats corresponded with the ones I’ve liked to sit in for years of movie viewing. I chose wrong. Next time I arrived prepared with the letters and numbers of my desired section. No go...different movie screen, different lettering system.

My husband and daughter went and the teller actually recommended seats to them. They were tucked up high in the back corner in about a 30 percent filled theater. Maybe the teller was saving the good seats for a giant group of family and friends?

The reclining seats are lovely, but I miss the simplicity of truly choosing where I would like to sit. A computer screen won’t tell me if I’m plopping down next to a group of rowdy teens or sitting next to a crying baby. My freedom to choose where I would be most comfortable has been removed. Please reconsider your policy. Until then, I’ll be at Edwards Fresno Stadium 22.
