White power figures don’t want to disrupt their comfort
During my 80 years, there has been an increase in racial mixing, which has given some white power figures a belief that the brown-skinned hordes will overthrow them. (This fear, in real life, has been a factor in bringing a white power movement to dominate our politics).
There is enough anger and divisiveness in our country, and also plenty of army and police. We also have the most heavily armed civilian population on earth.
A chorus of naysayers can be heard in the halls of power. They would hate to see a disruption of their comfortable lives.
