‘If this is winning, I’m sure tired of it’
Donald Trump famously tweeted that he was responsible for Ford Motor Company deciding not to build a Lincoln plant in Mexico (even though they had already decided not to well before he noticed). Now, Ford is going to build a larger plant in China to manufacture Focus automobiles for sale in North America – where’s the tweet about that?
Meanwhile, Foxconn is going to build a flat screen plant in Wisconsin that is supposed to bring 13,000 jobs and $10 billion in investment, except it will probably only be 3,000 jobs and much less in corporate investment. The only thing apparently chiseled in stone is that they will receive $3 billion in tax breaks, a cost of about $1 million per job.
Trump said America is going to win again, that we’re going to win so much we’ll get tired of winning. If this is winning, I’m sure tired of it!
