‘I’m bigoted, racist, homophobic, hated, outdated’

It is interesting that I have continued revelations about myself. One would think in 70 years of living, one would have a pretty good grasp of who one is. But, it’s never too late to learn.

After listening to the news, our legislators, Hollywood celebrities, talking heads, and reading op-ed articles, I’ve come to a better understanding of who I am. I now realize I am a particularly radical right-wing extremist...possibly even a terrorist.

Oh yes, I’m also bigoted, racist and homophobic. It appears that I have these character traits because I believe in our Constitution.

I believe in freedom of religion and being able to pray whenever and anywhere one wants.

I believe I have the right to honor our nation by flying our flag.

I believe marriage is a God-ordained covenant between a man and a woman only. And, that God created man and woman as individual creations.

Many years ago in my youth and early adulthood, I was led to believe these were admirable personal character traits. But, in today's culture, I see that I'm a dinosaur, outdated and almost extinct....hated even.

I'm not sure I like this new revelation of myself.
