Have you read GOP health care bill? No? Then hush

Do you really believe President Trump has read through the GOP health care act? Few people have, says Lloyd Carter of Clovis.

Never in American history has so much ignorant verbal energy been spent by people talking about the GOP Health Care bill with so little actual knowledge of it. The likely truth is that not a single bloviating member of Congress, or members of the pundit class, or the media have actually read the bill, with only a handful of lobbyists (who wrote it) likely to have read it.

It’s like a debate about the Bible by people who have not read it.

This dilemma reminds me of a quote from Mark Twain, albeit on a different subject, but useful in the present circumstance. Twain wrote: “The researches of commentators have already thrown much darkness on this subject, and it is probable that, if they continue, we shall soon know nothing at all about it.”

We are getting perilously close to that point.

Lloyd Carter, Clovis,
