National Night Out parties planned for Tuesday
The 34th Annual National Night Out (NNO), a unique crime and drug prevention event sponsored by the National Town Watch and locally by Fresno Police and Neighborhood Watch Association will take place on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. NNO is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
Invite your neighbors to come together and send a message to criminals, letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. Along with the traditional display of outdoor lights and front porch vigils, neighborhoods can celebrate NNO with a block party, cookouts or simply enjoying an ice cream social. This is a great time to get to know your neighbors.
National Night Out has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation.
If you do not have an organized Neighborhood Watch program in your area, take the challenge and start one.
Roselyn Clark, President, Fresno Police and Neighborhood Watch Association
