Harris respects access to justice, unlike Nunes

Robert Havay (June 25) claims that Congressman Devin Nunes “is 10 times better than Sen. Kamala Harris” because Harris introduced the Access to Counsel Act.

Harris represents more than 19 million California voters, some of whom may need counsel and not be able to afford it. Nunes represents fewer than 350,000 registered voters who have been selected by gerrymandering.

It appears to me that Harris respects access to law and access to justice for people who do not have enough money for a personal defense fund. Access to justice should not be limited to those who are well off. Nunes, on the other hand, appears to have more respect for privilege. He should be willing to listen to all his constituents that want to discuss acts or bills he is or is not supporting.
