Tired of fake conservative talking points
Listening to conservative talk regarding Russian ties to the Donald Trump campaign, there are two false conjectures that I am tired of hearing repeatedly.
One refrain is that Democrats are on the investigation bandwagon to justify Hillary Clinton’s loss. The other is that there is “no evidence” of illegal or inappropriate contact between Russia and Trump associates.
How can it be said, “there is no evidence?” If there is no evidence, there is no investigation. Every day there is more evidence that a lot of suspicious contact occurred between Trump campaign and the Russians. And the fact that some have lied about the contact does not inspire a confidence of innocence. There is no “proof” of illegal activity, but evidence is obviously present.
There are many reasons Clinton lost the election and Russian interference definitely contributed. But that is not a reason for the investigation. The more Trump complains and resists, the guiltier he appears.
Why not allow the investigation to proceed unhindered, without tweeting how unjustly he is being treated and accusing all media of fake news? President Trump should focus on the sacred job before him. His legacy will depend on that, unless of course he is guilty.
