Devin Nunes to voters: Show me the money, then we’ll talk

Comically enough, Rep. Devin Nunes is now accusing the Los Angeles Times of “lazy reporting” and “fake news” (Bee, May 31) for printing remarks he himself made at a private fundraiser in early April.

According to his own chief of staff, Nunes will no longer talk to The Bee’s beat reporter (Bee, April 12). Nunes continues to take a pass on opportunities to talk with his constituents at any sort of town hall event. So why is Nunes snippy when reporters print accurate quotes from private fundraisers – which he does attend?

The L.A. Times coverage is neither “lazy” nor “fake.” But if Nunes wants better coverage, maybe he should expand the conversation beyond his donors.
