Thanks for nothing on Valadao’s health-care vote

The American Action Network – a billionaire-funded, right-wing political posse – has been polluting Fresno area TV with a cynical “thank you” to 21st District Rep. David Valadao. This is a hypocritical pay-off for helping to provide the one vote over those 216 needed for passage of “Zombie Trumpcare” through the House, even as it now gasps its final death rattle in the Senate.

Valadao is saluted for “keeping his word and fighting for the health care we deserve.”

Really?

The announcement is filled with exaggerations, unforgivable distortions and outright lies. These include a “bold plan to cut the deficit,” “protecting people with pre-existing conditions” and “$1 trillion in job-creating tax relief.”

How about adding a trillion dollars a year to the deficit by 2028, protecting insurance companies by letting them charge enough for pre-existing conditions to buy several large houses and taking hundred of billions out of Medicare to give only the really rich serious tax breaks?

Now Valadao adds insult to injury with “Why I Voted For the American Health Care Act” in the May 22 Bee, a treasure of talking-points trash.

Valadao must feel his district is filled with fools.
