Analyzing Trump vs. the swamp
Trump identified real problems thinking he could fix them. Being a narcissist, he believes that only he can fix them. He will drain the swamp – the minute he makes a deal with someone in the swamp, he becomes part of swamp. He doesn’t see that though. He continues to hold himself aloof. It is everybody else’s fault. He is there to straighten them up.
The swamp knows the system, the environment and the players. Fight one, then another and another, and they all perceive, perhaps not incorrectly, that they are all at risk. The solution? Band together. Drive him out. Make things up if you must. The narcissist will go off the rails and do something really stupid. He can be gone before four years.
Trump decided to be a politician but only plays the game if he can be the big winner. My understanding of how he was successful was in not believing in a win-win scenario. Only he could win in his deals. He does the same thing as president. When it goes against him, he attacks. He blames everyone but himself. He can’t play the political game and is an outsider forever.
