Trust in God should be fundamental to Americans

The spate of letters against “In God We Trust” disturbingly indicates a lack of understanding of truth and shows why society is struggling. One writer mistakenly contends God deserves no respect, claiming “public areas” are merely for “business activities.”

Believing governing authorities have no godly connection lacks understanding of founding principles of justice, honor, truth, ethics and morals, all of which have their origin from God.

While God “has no need” of the “council’s acknowledgment,” it is fundamentally wrong that God is uncaring, indifferent or irrelevant. Any race or creed that denies or rejects the moral law God has given is a threat to a stable society, so the declaration of trusting in God should be fundamental to all who live in this country.
