Fresno City Council got it wrong on ‘In God We Trust’
With all due respect, homage to God or Gods should not be held or displayed in public areas established for conducting secular “business” activities. It is presumptuous to assume accord or impose religious rituals, banners and dictums on those present and represented who may hold different beliefs or none at all.
Surely an omniscient and omnipotent creator has no need of the Fresno City Council’s acknowledgment and supplications. However, as citizens, we would all substantially benefit by our “trust” in their strict adherence to, and diligent oversight of “civic” affairs, solvency and impartial inclusion of all races and creeds.
