Be on high alert for jaywalkers

Fresno is clearly not a city that was made for pedestrians. However, people do still need to cross the street here and there, and that’s where it gets dangerous for vehicle drivers and pedestrians.

I have honestly lost count of how many times I or one of my friends have almost hit someone illegally crossing a busy street with no crosswalk in sight. It has become all too common in Fresno for people, adults as well as children, to cross busy roads – perhaps because there are not enough crosswalks.

I have to always be on high alert because I never know who might run out in front of me.
