Gov. Brown, address housing, water shortages

First let’s all thank God once again for blessing us with the wettest winter in years and arguably ending the drought. Now with our snow pack melting fast, what will we do? Well, there will be more floods and many different types of them. All will be a waste of our precious water. Why? Because we have a water-storage shortage.

You know what other shortage we have? A housing shortage. With California’s population growing every year, you would think housing them would be a priority. But no, our leaders decided that failing projects like the high-speed rail and other ineffective “programs” should take priority over the two most important things for the future of California.

We all agree that water is life. From plants to animals to all Californians and to the rest of the world who consumes our agriculture, this is a crystal clear priority. And if you can’t house your growing population, what do you expect them to do? Who are you building trains and trying to create jobs for?

I see Gov. Jerry Brown trying so hard at the end of his term as he pushes for his legacy projects. But I’m afraid the only legacy he will leave is short-term thinking and wasting a lot of taxpayer dollars.
