We may not eat dogs, but we kill them by the thousands

A couple weeks ago a story broke about dog meat markets operating in Korea. There was a brief uproar from our side. Where is this uproar for the dogs here? We euthanize hundreds of thousands of them a year and toss them away. Why not demand more measure to end this pathetic practice?

Towns like Turlock have people who walk through heavy dog areas blowing dog whistles, to locate and see if resident dogs are licensed and fixed. They also offer heavily discounted spay and neuter programs. Start making the price of purebred in the thousands – a good specialty dog is worth it. Otherwise get the family dog from the pound.

The fate of these poor animals man domesticates and then destroys is sickening. Some best friend man has become.
