‘Embrace peace and reject horrors of war’

War will be the defining legacy of the human race. Throughout the ages, war and destruction have been a constant scourge upon every generation to walk this earth.

For all of our advances in technology, medicine and science, we haven’t advanced our desire for peace one iota. We refuse to accept the universal truth that there are no winners in war. Technology has changed the face of war, but the faces of the dead never change. Faces frozen in time, silenced by the totality of death.

Yet their silence speaks to us still, gently calling the living to embrace peace and reject the horrors of war. Once again, this silent call for peace is being drowned out by those seeking war. Self-righteous cowards blinded by the fog of war, seeking to inspire a new generation to reject the wisdom of peace and march off to war.

Obsessed with perceived threats to security, these war mongers cowardly threaten the future of mankind rather than finding the courage for diplomacy and peace. With one battle in this nuclear age potentially ending humanity, we should endeavor to declare war a casualty of mankind before mankind is rendered a casualty of war.
