Vote the rascals out for hiking fuel taxes

State Sen. Anthony Cannella, R-Ceres, talks with Sen. Cathleen Galgiani, D-Stockton, on April 6, as lawmakers debate a transportation bill that would increase California’s gas and vehicle taxes $5 billion a year to pay for major road repairs. Cannella joined Democrats in voting for the bill.

Here’s hoping everyone read The Bee’s article about Democratic Gov. Brown “buying” gas-tax hike votes from lawmakers! Shameful and yet another example of politicians who don’t care about the cost of their actions, only getting what “they” want.

In this case, nearly an “additional $1 billion” for buying fellow Democratic votes (and the vote of Republican Sen. Anthony Cannella of Ceres).

I guess they think we’re stupid. Vote all of these Democrats out. They clearly do not think about who is paying for this. They’re mostly wealthy, upper-middle class and will not feel the effects of the increased gas tax at all, but we will.

So let’s see how long they can go before these crooked politicians raid this new pot of transportation funds, like they did with the old gas taxes. There’s no accountability whatsoever, and it’s again shameful.
