It’s about mutual respect, not titles
With regard to the letter in the April 9 Fresno Bee titled “Why can’t newscasters get Trump’s title right?”: Are we to assume that the newscasters who represent our major television networks are all members of the Democratic Party? And, has our thinking become so narrow that we are to, again, assume it is only this party’s presidents who are respected by national newscasters?
This mindset is absurd. What should be addressed is the overall lack of respect for people in general; regardless of the title one acquires by virtue of his or her position.
The larger concern here is the necessity for all of us to focus on the “big picture” and concentrate on what we must do to better respect one another, so we can move forward in our quest to “Make America Great Again,” as if it were not already great.
I feel confident that doing so will lead to us becoming a stronger, more progressive, and better united nation. Let us not forget: “All for one, and one for all.”
