Want a college education? Work and pay for it.

My husband worked a full-time job supporting our family while commuting nights to get an education, so tired sometimes he slept in our vehicle. My son worked full time and commuted two hours a day supporting his family and going to school nights to get a college education.

My daughter raised three children as a single mom scrubbing toilets and making beds. She didn’t get the chance to get a higher education.

Tell me why my daughter, son or husband – who is trying to figure out how he will ever be able to retire – should be forced to pay taxes so that anyone’s kids can get a college education. I know there are a lot of other hardworking people who have never gotten a free ride through life wondering the same thing.

Someone please explain to these young people who are demanding a college education that our state and federal governments do not have any money nor can any government make money. Please explain to them that the money the government spends is tax money that is taken from other people. I don’t think they understand.
