Congress must improve Obamacare

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, R-Wis., joined by Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy of Bakersfield talks about getting past the failure to pass a health-care overhaul bill Tuesday, March 28, 2017 AP file

The GOP recently removed a bill to replace the Affordable Care Act from consideration because it lacked sufficient votes to pass in the House of Representatives. It was a bad bill that would have been a large step backward for health care.

The ACA certainly needs improvement. It is imperative that our members of Congress concentrate on working together to improve the ACA, not repeal it. President Trump has indicated that that they should just let the ACA fail, so that the Democrats will come crawling to have it fixed.

This is yet another clear example that Trump is not interested in serving, only winning.
