Here’s how to think about immigration
I have been thinking about illegal immigration vs. legal immigration. Let me use the Costco analogy. Person A, the legal immigrant, fills out an application, pays a fee, shops and then gets in line to purchase his or her items. For the sake of my analogy, paying the cashier would equate to becoming a citizen.
Now imagine someone, Person B, the illegal immigrant, not being required to fill out an application, not paying the fee and then being allowed to go straight to the head of the line. Sounds great if you are Person B, but what does this tell all of the suckers who came into this country the legal way, or worse yet, all of the people still waiting to get in?
I believe that most are very hard-working, decent people. However, I don’t believe that, given the choice, most people would allow them access to the front of the line.
