Can we trust Nunes to be truthful?

Our Founding Fathers chased butterflies in establishing our democracy. While not a true democracy, nor a perfect one, the concept of free elections was paramount.

We have a Republican leadership that no longer seeks the truth. The leader of the House Intelligence Committee, Devin Nunes, has struggled to deny Russian influence by stating that he has seen no connection. Yet, on CNN, Nunes stated that he knows only what he reads quickly in the press. This is from the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee?

We have an election that was influenced by Russia with connections to the Trump administration. The fact that Attorney General Jeff Sessions had connections, as did other high-placed officials, should raise alarm. Nunes wants to kill the messenger and ignore the message. But in our democracy, this is not right. The butterflies need to be chased. We need the truth.

As Nunes has been a trusted fund raiser for the Trump administration, can he even chair an investigation that will reinforce the concept of democracy?
