GOP suffers payback for critcizing Obama
After reading another letter to the editor bemoaning the fact the “the left” is not giving President Trump a chance, is not “respecting him,” is not “unifying behind him,” etc., I can no longer refrain from responding.
Where was this outrage when President Obama (who twice won presidential elections – popular vote and Electoral College – without the interference of a foreign leader) was disrespected, not “given a chance,” and often thwarted amid the right’s hopes for his failure?
His vacations were scrutinized and criticized, yet President Trump is on pace to spend more taxpayer money on travel in one year than Obama did in eight years. I have not heard a peep from the right on those topics now that President Trump is in office.
Everyone has a right to air their opinions, but if those on the right cannot see the hypocrisy of their complaints then it needs to be pointed out to them. Expecting President Trump to be treated by those on the left any differently than President Obama was treated by those on the right is the height of that hypocrisy.
