Firearms should be kept locked up

The editorial “Childhood gun deaths: an all-too-common horror” (March 6) was compelling.

I agree that adults should find better ways to lock up their firearms. It’s sad to hear that children who are so young either die or are the person on the other end of the gun just imitating what they see on TV or in their surroundings. All it takes is one action to help the world not have to go through tragedies like these.

There should be a law requiring firearms to be locked up in the house at all times. Common sense would also be to keep it unloaded when it’s out in the house. I understand that adults feel safe while having a gun in the house, but also think of the safety of your children and the possibility of accidents.
