Don’t repeal Obamacare

Obamacare allows me to focus on my business, not my insurance.

Lawmakers in Washington, D.C., who say they want to repeal the Affordable Care Act don’t understand how much it helps entrepreneurs like me. Without the law, I would simply not have health insurance. The same goes for my family and my employee.

I opened an insurance office in 2015, but due to limited budget during my start-up I’m unable to afford health coverage through a small group plan or individual and family plans. Instead, I purchased quality, affordable insurance through Covered California for myself, my family and my employee.

Without the subsidy offered by the ACA, however, there is no way I could fit this health insurance into my limited budget. In fact, without Covered California I wouldn’t have coverage at all.

The ACA gives me the confidence to focus on growing my business instead of worrying about health care costs. That’s just one of many reasons the health law should not be repealed.
