School choice: safe haven or recall vote?

Fresno Unified School District needs to think twice about passing its safe-haven policy. If it passes, Fresno Unified is no longer an educational entity, it becomes a political entity. First, the board wants assistants. Does it need extra help to administer the burden and money safe haven will require?

This policy strengthens the argument for school choice. I do not believe spending school tax funds on political issues is legal and could generate oversight issues, federal investigation and lawsuits. Hasn’t Fresno Unified wasted enough money on poor decisions and illegal activities?

Since this is political, then we need to vote “No” on all future school bonds. If the safe-haven policy does pass, we need to start the recall process for any school board member supporting this policy and find individuals more interested in our kids’ education. Not knowing what President Trump’s immigration plan will be, this policy is premature.
