Letters to the Editor

Trump scares senior citizens

There have been some very good letters to the editor about the truth of Donald Trump and how his election win is scaring so many people. I agree completely.

I am writing about one other thing that is scaring me, since I am a senior citizen. I remember hearing Trump saying in rallies and interviews that he will not touch Medicare or Social Security. Another lie! By putting Rep. Tom Price of Georgia in charge of health and human services secretary, he is putting the fox in charge of the hen house. Price wants to privatize everything

He has been trying to get rid of the Affordable Care Act since its beginning. He actually wrote the paper for all those bills the Republicans use to try and abolish it. The talk has been for vouchers or health savings plans. In other words, he wants us to fend for ourselves and let the insurance companies do what they please.

On top of that, I heard that they are even saying that maybe they will just get rid of the Affordable Care Act and maybe, in three or four years, come up with something to replace it. I find this unacceptable. The Affordable Care Act just needs a little help to make it better.

I thank all you Trump voters for giving the Republicans everything they need to make health insurance unaffordable again.
