I am a patriotic liberal: Deal with it

I’m really tired of ultraconservative letter writers who use the word “liberal” as an automatic condemnation.

I’m a proud American patriot. I’m also a liberal. Deal with it. There are tens of millions of us. We’ll fight you for the next four to eight years. Read the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution: Freedom of speech and peaceable assembly.

Donald Trump waged a campaign of anger and contempt. He sneered at women, Mexicans and the handicapped. I saw him on TV waving his arms contemptuously at a handicapped man whose limbs trembled. That was unforgivable.

He took his daughter into his meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan. That was idiotic.

It’s gonna be a long presidency.
