Letters to the Editor

Give Trump a taste of GOP’s own medicine

I will take to heart Gary Sellers’ plea (letter Nov. 24) for Democrats to give Donald Trump the same respect and support that Republicans gave Obama.

I will claim that Trump was born in another country and not be satisfied if he produces 50 birth certificates. I will claim continually that he is a Muslim despite all evidence that he is a Christian. If I am a Democratic legislator, I will block all legislation that Trump proposes because he is Trump, no matter how much it stifles the economy.

If I am on MSNBC or liberal radio, I will attack him from day one he is in office, give him absolutely no credit for anything positive his presidency produces, blame him for anything and everything that goes wrong in the country or the world, and say whatever it takes to make him a one-term president. If I am a letter writer to The Bee, I will write only negative letters on Trump as long as he is in office.

If you really want Democrats to give Trump a fair chance to govern, suggest that they do exactly the opposite of what Republicans did to Obama for eight years.
