Ignore ringing phones while driving

Regarding the Nov. 17 article “Digital diversions often turning into a deadly game:” Highway deaths have increased a lot due to cell phone use. I can easily ignore my ringing phone when driving. But others can’t and even get upset with me when riding as a passenger when I don’t answer. By the same token, when I’m the passenger I have noticed that everyone I’m riding with will answer and talk while driving.

I’ve also noticed many drivers talking with phones held to their ears or looking at them reading and texting. Many times, I’ve had to honk to get someone’s attention who hasn’t noticed the light is green due to cell phone use.
