Selma needs new police station

Our officers in Selma need a new police facility. The “temporary” facility housing our police force since the 1960s is inadequate and requires major upgrades. Measure P will provide the funding needed to build a new police station that includes a modern training facility for our next generation of officers.

As our population grows, it is very important that we prepare to handle that growth. The updated technology at the new station will help us reduce crime, improve video policing and ensure the operations center will survive natural disasters.

When passed, Measure P will leverage a $4 million state grant to help pay for the new facility. This means that the much-needed police station would be built with no impact on the city’s General Fund, freeing funding that can be used to add new officers to the force.

The built-in accountability measures requiring financial audits and a citizen’s oversight committee will ensure no waste. The funds will improve protection for our community.

Please join us and support this important measure that is much needed in Selma. Show your support by investing in the men and women who invest so much of their time and energy to keep us safe.
