Vote out the millionaire Congress
Do you believe your senators and representatives in Congress really represent the interests of the majority of Americans who make between $25,000 and $200,000. per year? If so, consider these facts:
l. This year’s Congress was the first “millionaire” Congress in history.
2. California’s senators are both worth more than $75 million.
3. A majority of representatives are millionaires.
4. California Rep. Darrell Issa is the richest member of the House worth $357 million.
5. The median worth of U.S. representatives is $456,522.
6. The median worth of U.S. senators is $1,100,000. (Statistics taken from Ballotpedia.org and money.cnn.com.)
When you hear your millionaire congressman or congresswomen tell you they will work to cut taxes for the middle class and small businesses and tax “big” business and the “1 percent,” ask yourself if they will really raise “their” taxes to give you tax relief. Meanwhile, they get by paying no taxes or paying at a very reduced amount because of tax loopholes for the rich.
Perhaps its time to vote out the long-serving “good ol’ boys” in Congress and find less rich individuals who really care about middle-class Americans and small businesses.
