How did these two candidates ever make it to the ballot?
We rant-n-rave about our presidential candidates. She’s corrupt; he’s brash and rude. She has big money behind her. He has big money behind him. She does this, he said this. She’s wrong, he’s wrong.
I’m quizzical as to how these two got to the position of presidential candidates at all? We can blame the big money and powers behind them. (It seems we’re always looking to blame someone else.)
But, what do these candidates really say about our culture? Within my lifetime, it would have been impossible for two candidates of such obvious and overtly disputable character to have become candidates. What does this reveal about the character of our culture? I’m not pleased with my assumptions.
