Thanks, Fresno, for saving Sanctuary

Last year we asked for help to keep the doors open for Fresno Economic Opportunity Commission’s Sanctuary Outreach to the Streets (SOS) project. SOS had unexpectedly lost outreach grant funding and was struggling with how to connect with our vulnerable street youth. No one should be without a safe and stable place to call home.

We promised the community that if it came forward with the support needed to keep SOS open, then we would make every effort to bring the funding back to Fresno. The community answered our call, and together we saved SOS.

It brings us great pleasure to announce that SOS was recently awarded a grant to fund the operation for three years. These funds allow us to connect street youth with safe and stable housing seven days a week, furthering our goal of ending youth homelessness in our community.

Thank you, Fresno, for your continuous support of our youth! If you are interested in learning more about SOS or would like to learn how you can help, please visit our website www.fresnoeoc.org/sos.
