Choose Barbara Thomas for county board of education

I proudly support Barbara Thomas for re-election to the Fresno County Board of Education. She is the incumbent Area 3 Trustee, the only woman on the board, and by far the most qualified, experienced and committed candidate.

Barbara has dedicated her career to educating children and youth, and has developed connections and earned the respect of her peers throughout the state. While serving as an elected delegate to educational organizations at the state level, Barbara has been able to influence educational policy and funding, far beyond what’s possible within the relatively limited scope of the local school board.

Unlike her opponent, Barbara is a long-time resident of Area 3, and familiar with every school district in Fresno County. This past November, her politically ambitious opponent filed to run for Fresno City Council District 4 (requiring that he reside in that district). After pundits observed that he was unlikely to win that race (Central Valley Observer, Nov. 3, 2015) he acquired an address in Area 3, and filed to run for the school board instead.

Barbara Thomas has a proven record of leadership and advocacy for equal opportunities for all students. Please join me in voting for her on Nov. 8!
