Ivette Lee shows character, courage
I would like to applaud Ivette Lee of Fresno (letter Sept. 21) for having the character and courage to take responsibility for an error in judgment. She was asked by a family on a Facebook group to share an incident at the Clovis Unified School District board meeting that was related to the transgender bathroom issue.
When it was investigated and no evidence of any such incident was found, this Facebook group and the family involved did not support Ms. Lee in any way, or take any responsibility for the misinformation.
Ivette Lee did, both at the next board meeting and in her letter to the editor. This is my definition of a role model, someone who is not perfect, but owns her mistakes and learns from them. It’s a hard thing to do, but she has set a great example for her own children and others.
